Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 5, 2026 · Last updated: September 30, 2026

1. Who we are, and what this covers

This Privacy Policy explains what Integer Software LLC, doing business as "Integer" ("Integer," "we," "us"), does with personal information when you use Sideyard — the Sideyard mobile apps, the joinsideyard.com website and community pages, and the text messages Sideyard sends and receives by SMS, MMS, RCS, and iMessage (together, "Sideyard" or the "Service").

Sideyard is how communities share updates. Your community's Organizer decides what to send and who belongs; Integer runs the service that carries it. For the personal information described in this policy, Integer is the "business" or "controller" responsible for it, except that Organizers are independently responsible for how they use member information they can see inside their community (see Section 6).

If you have questions, write to [email protected]. Our mailing address is Integer Software LLC, 169 Madison Ave, STE 64131, New York, NY 10016.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Name and mobile number — when you sign up, or when an Organizer who has your permission adds you. Joining the waitlist creates an account with a verified mobile number and your first and last name. Your mobile number is your account identity; we don't use passwords.
  • Profile details — a profile photo and, if you choose, your approximate neighborhood or address.
  • Your community life on Sideyard — communities and groups you belong to, updates you write, photos and links you add, events you create, RSVPs and guest counts, poll answers, and questions you ask.
  • Messages — texts you send to a Sideyard number (by SMS, MMS, RCS, or iMessage), and our record of what Sideyard sent you and whether it arrived or was read.
  • Contacts you choose to import — if you use the contact-import feature to invite people, we receive the names and phone numbers you select from your device's address book. We use them only to send the invitations you ask for and to show you who's already on Sideyard; we don't upload your whole address book and we don't message contacts you didn't select.
  • Support and correspondence — what you tell us when you text HELP, email us, or reply to a message.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage basics — device type and operating system, app version, browser type, language, IP address, pages and screens viewed, actions taken, and crash and performance diagnostics. Product analytics are collected only after consent where the law requires consent.
  • Location — with your permission through your device settings, precise location (GPS) so we can show communities and events near you. You can turn this off at any time in your device settings, and Sideyard still works. We also derive an approximate location from your IP address for security and to set defaults such as time zone.
  • Signed links and sessions — which invitation link opened a page, plus the device sessions and remembered "group words" that keep members-only pages working.
  • Messaging metadata — delivery status, carrier, the channel used (SMS, MMS, RCS, or iMessage), and timestamps.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 9.

Information from others

  • Organizers — a name and mobile number an Organizer adds for you, and the Organizer's record that you agreed to be added.
  • Other members — for example, when someone RSVPs on behalf of your household or answers a poll that mentions you.
  • Service providers — carrier lookups that tell us whether a number is a mobile line, and fraud- and abuse-prevention signals.

What we don't collect. We don't collect payment details — Sideyard is free — and we never ask for card, bank, or Social Security numbers. We don't ask for information about health, religion, sexual orientation, or other sensitive characteristics. We recognize that belonging to some communities (a congregation, for example) or the content you and your community share may reveal such characteristics; we process that information only to deliver the Service, never to profile you or for advertising, and only with the consent you give by joining or posting.

3. How we use it

  • To run Sideyard — deliver updates, invitations, and reminders; record RSVPs and poll answers; host community pages; keep guest lists right; show communities and events near you; and send sign-in codes.
  • To read and answer texts with software, including AI — Sideyard matches your written reply to an answer, records it, generates or drafts responses to questions, and routes unclear replies and questions to your Organizer (see Section 5).
  • To keep the Service safe — verify sign-ins, prevent spam and abuse, enforce our Terms, honor STOP, and fix problems.
  • To improve Sideyard — using measurements of how it's used and aggregated or de-identified statistics.
  • To communicate with you — respond to support requests and send service notices, such as changes to our Terms or this policy.
  • To comply with the law — including responding to lawful requests and protecting rights and safety.

We don't run ads, and we don't use your messages or content to target you with advertising. We don't use your content or messages to train our own AI models, and our AI providers are contractually prohibited from using them to train theirs.

Sideyard uses requested text-message codes to verify sign-ins. The planned Sideyard Community Texts program, operated by Integer Software LLC, covers community updates, group messages, event invitations and reminders, replies to questions, and neighborhood-access notices. Community-message delivery is not yet available, and the signup flow does not enroll you in marketing.

Opting in. The web sign-in form requires an initially unchecked checkbox before you can request a code. It combines your acknowledgment of the Terms and this Privacy Policy with consent to community texts. You cannot complete that web sign-in flow without checking it. The checkbox is not a marketing opt-in and does not authorize promotions or unrelated senders. We do not infer community consent from existing accounts, membership, an Organizer's invitation, or a changed phone number. Our Terms of Service reproduce the exact disclosure and describe the program.

Opting out. When community texting becomes available, reply STOP to a Sideyard community text to stop all Sideyard community texts to your number across communities and groups. We also honor QUIT, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, OPT OUT, and other reasonable requests, including requests to [email protected]. After withdrawal, no further community texts may be sent without renewed explicit consent; one final message may confirm the opt-out. Processing time does not authorize continued sending. When supported, START will request renewed enrollment. Signing in or requesting a verification code does not itself lift a delivery opt-out. A requested verification code is limited to that authentication attempt and may still be subject to carrier or provider blocks.

Reply HELP to a Sideyard community text when messaging is available, or contact [email protected] at any time. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Messaging preference controls are not yet available in your profile.

Checkbox acknowledgment. The web form requires the checkbox but does not retain a separate history of checkbox acknowledgments or store them in browser session storage. Delivery enrollment, consent recordkeeping, enrollment confirmation, and STOP/START/HELP handling must be in place before community messaging launches.

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Mobile phone numbers and text-messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with, sold, or rented to any third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Providers may process this information only to operate the service for us, including number verification and delivery of authorized messages. They receive only the information needed for those services and may not use it for their own marketing. These restrictions apply to every sharing category in Section 6.

5. AI processing

The software that reads replies and drafts or generates answers uses AI models from third-party providers (currently Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google) under contracts that limit them to processing on our behalf. Your messages and relevant community content (for example, an Organizer's update that answers your question, or private guidance an Organizer wrote for the assistant) are sent to those providers to generate a response. They are processed to run Sideyard, not to train those providers' models, and providers are required to delete or not retain your data beyond what's needed to provide the service to us, subject to legal holds.

Some replies you receive are generated by AI without a person typing them. A person stays in charge: Organizers see and can correct answers, approve what gets published, and you can always reach a person by texting HELP or writing to [email protected]. We don't use AI to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

6. How information is shared

  • With your community, under its rules. Your name, profile photo, and answers appear to members; who's coming to an event stays hidden until you answer; full guest lists are for members. Organizers and the group leaders they name see replies, RSVPs, and questions so they can run things. Organizers are responsible for using member information only for the community and in line with our Terms and applicable law.
  • On public pages. If an Organizer makes a community page or an update public, your name and the content you contributed to it (for example, a comment, a photo you added, or the fact that you're an Organizer) can be seen by anyone with the link and may be indexed by search engines. Ask your Organizer, or leave the community, if you don't want that.
  • Phone numbers. Not displayed to other members or Organizers (an Organizer who added you from their own contacts already has your number). If you ask to swap numbers with someone, Sideyard asks them first; numbers are shared only when both people say yes.
  • Service providers. Companies that help run Sideyard, under contracts that limit them to working for us and protecting your information. Our principal providers today are listed in the table below. We'll update this list as providers change; the current list is always available on request at [email protected].

  • Carriers and messaging platforms. To deliver texts we necessarily share your number and message content with mobile carriers, Apple (for iMessage), and Google (for RCS), who handle it under their own policies.
  • Legal reasons. When the law requires it; to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or lawful requests from authorities; to enforce our Terms; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Integer, our users, or others.
  • A sale or merger. If Integer is part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may move with the Service; this policy applies until it's changed with notice.
  • With your direction. When you ask us to share something — for example, by texting a friend an invitation or adding a link.
  • Aggregated or de-identified information that can't reasonably be used to identify you.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we haven't done so in the past 12 months.

7. Your choices and rights

Choices built into Sideyard

  • Contact [email protected] for messaging assistance; profile messaging controls are not yet available.
  • When community messaging is available, reply STOP to stop all Sideyard community texts across communities and groups; reply HELP for help.
  • Leave a group or a community any time — it's one tap in the app.
  • Change your name, photo, or phone number in your profile.
  • Turn location access off in your device settings.
  • Turn app notifications off in your device settings.
  • Get a copy of your account information from your profile — sent to you as a link.
  • Delete your account from your profile — it removes you from every group and community, for good.

When community messaging becomes available, STOP will opt you out of community texts and HELP will provide support information. You can also ask your Organizer to remove you from a community.

Marketing. Web sign-in and waitlist registration do not request or record marketing consent. Community consent is not permission to send promotional texts. A future marketing program would need a separate, explicit opt-in.

Legal rights. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; to opt out of certain uses; to limit our use of sensitive information (such as precise location); and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. The tools above cover most requests. For anything else, write to [email protected] or text HELP, and we'll respond within the time the law requires (generally 45 days in the U.S. and one month in the EEA/UK, extendable with notice). We'll verify your request by texting the number on your account. You may use an authorized agent; we'll ask the agent for proof of authority and may ask you to confirm directly. If we deny a request, you can appeal by replying to our decision or writing to [email protected] with "Privacy Appeal" in the subject.

California residents. The categories of personal information we collect are described in Section 2 and map to these CCPA categories: identifiers (name, phone number, IP address); personal records (name, contact details); commercial information (none — Sideyard is free); internet or network activity; precise geolocation (sensitive personal information, collected only with device permission); audio, electronic, or visual information (photos you add); and inferences (none beyond matching replies to answers). Sources, purposes, and disclosures are in Sections 2, 3, and 6. We do not sell or share personal information, and we don't have actual knowledge that we sell or share information of anyone under 16. You can limit our use of precise location by turning off location access in your device settings; we use it only for the purposes permitted under the CCPA. We don't respond to "Do Not Track" signals, but we do honor Global Privacy Control signals on our website as an opt-out of sale/sharing where applicable. Under California's "Shine the Light" law, we don't disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing.

Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws. You may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal information, to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and certain profiling, and to appeal our decisions. We don't sell personal information, engage in targeted advertising, or profile you in ways that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Where your state requires consent to process sensitive data, we collect precise location only with your device-level permission, and we process any sensitive characteristics revealed by your community membership or content only with the consent you give by joining or posting.

EEA, UK, and Switzerland. Sideyard is designed for communities in the United States. If we process personal information of people in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, our legal bases are: performance of our contract with you (running the Service), your consent (community texts, precise location, analytics cookies), our legitimate interests (security, improvement, and enforcing our Terms), and legal obligations. You have the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object, and to withdraw consent at any time; you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Your information is transferred to and processed in the United States; we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK Addendum) with our providers where required.

8. What we keep, and for how long

We retain account and community information for as long as needed to provide the Service, respond to your requests, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Account deletion may retain limited records needed for these purposes; it is not an immediate erasure of all records.

  • Opt-out records, when community messaging launches, must be retained as needed to prevent further sending without renewed explicit consent.
  • Content shared with others, including delivered texts and community updates or photos, may remain in recipients' copies or the community's history.
  • Security logs, diagnostics, and backups may remain for security, recovery, and legal needs, subject to access restrictions and the applicable provider's retention settings.

Waitlisted members have accounts; we apply the same account-retention practices to them. Contact [email protected] to request deletion or information about retention.

9. Cookies and device storage

The website uses sign-in session cookies and practical preferences such as your time zone. During sign-in, browser session storage temporarily holds verification-code resend and retry timing for the active authentication attempt. Analytics (PostHog) run only after consent where the law requires consent; the cookie banner lets you accept, decline, or customize, and you can change your choice from the "Cookies" link in the footer. There is no advertising tracking on Sideyard. The mobile apps use a device identifier for push notifications and crash reporting.

10. Security

We protect information with encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest, access controls and multi-factor authentication for our team, logging and monitoring, and by collecting little in the first place. No service can promise perfect security. If a security incident affects you, we will tell you what we know and what we're doing about it, and we'll notify you and regulators as the law requires. Please report security concerns to [email protected].

11. Children

Sideyard is for adults 18 and older and is not directed to children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete it. If you believe a child has given us information, or that an Organizer has added a child's number, write to [email protected].

12. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will give notice — on this page, in the app, or by text — before the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top tells you when it last changed.
